The Office of Humanitarian Leadership and Emergency Health engages in scholarly activities that build leadership capacity in the health system in order to enhance and ensure the safety and resiliency of families, workplaces and communities in times of disaster. The Office conducts research into the health effects disasters on the population’s health as well as research into the functioning of health systems during disasters. Additionally, Office faculty and staff are available to provide technical assistance to public health agencies as well as partner agencies and organizations involved in emergency preparedness and response. This technical assistance includes assisting with emergency planning; workforce development; and exercise design and execution.
